Bulbasaur is a Grass/Poison-type Pokémon and is numbered 001, making Bulbasaur the first Pokémon listed. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur at level 16. Bulbasaur is a good all rounder and an excellent pokemon to pick as your starter if you plan on tackling the Kanto Gym Leaders first as it will give you a fairly easy victory against both Brock and Misty. However, if you are going to go after the Johto Gym Leaders than Bulbasaur is probably not for you as the first gym leader of this region Falkner
