Google has marked the almost universal popularity of milk tea or bubble tea. Google has marked it in their own style – through a doodle. On this day in 2020, Bubble Tea was officially announced as a new emoji due to its global popularity. This Taiwanese beverage began as a local delicacy and has exploded in popularity in recent decades. In the new Google Doodle minigame, one plays the role of a Formosan Mountain Dog who operates a bubble tea stand in the midst of a rainy forest. The process of making tea in the game is straightforward, as one simply needs to fill the cup with each ingredient to reach a certain line. If one stops on the line, one gets a star, for a maximum of three stars per customer.
