Apple ducking featured as an event within the obstacle race at this annual sports day. William Hesketh Lever , Lord Leverhulme, began manufacturing 'Sunlight' soap in England in 1884. He founded Port Sunlight, the model factory and community south of the Mersey. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs.
