Aravindh Chithambaram drew against Maxim Matlakov in the seventh round of 23rd Dubai Open 2023. For the third consecutive round, Aravindh managed to get himself a fantastic position. However, he was unable to convert it as his attack fizzled out. Yangyi Yu (CHN) defeated Shant Sargsyan (ARM) to join Aravindh in the lead 5.5/7. They are followed by eight players at 5/8 each.
